     Mother's Day is a worldwide celebration that acknowledges and honors mothers' love and sacrifices. In the Philippines, it is significant as Filipinos place a high value on mothers' role in their families, reflecting strong family connections and traditional practices deeply rooted in Filipino culture.

    Mother's Day is highly honored in the Philippines. Families gather to show their love and appreciation for mothers through different kinds of traditional Filipino celebrations and traditions.

      Mother's Day is traditionally observed in the Philippines with enthusiasm and affection, with families gathering together to express their gratitude to their moms through different gestures. One popular practice is to prepare a special meal for the mother, generally consisting of her favorite dishes, as a way to express love and care while also giving her a break from her everyday duties. And treat her to pamper and relax, which commonly includes spa days or salon treatments. 

     Another way to celebrate Mother's Day in Filipino tradition is through gift-giving, with children giving their mother flowers, chocolates, or small tokens of appreciation and love. Handwritten letters expressing their love and appreciation symbolize the strong connection between mother and child. 

   Beyond material presents, Filipinos express gratitude through touching words and acts of service, with children mostly expressing their love and appreciation, recounting cherished memories, and thanking mothers for their unconditional love and support. 

      Filipinos also celebrate Mother's Day by spending quality time with their mothers, whether it's a family meal or picnic, Food is important during Filipino celebrations, with families usually making special dinners or eating out at their mother's favorite restaurant. And sharing stories, and creating lasting memories together. It's a time for laughter, love, and togetherness to make the mother feel special and beloved on this day dedicated to her. Furthermore, some families attend celebrations at church on Mother's Day to pray and express gratitude for the gift of being a mother. 

    To sum up, Mother's Day in the Filipino tradition honors and celebrates mothers' selfless sacrifices and unconditional love and support. Through heartfelt gestures, family gatherings, and cultural traditions, Filipinos express their deep appreciation for the unconditional love and sacrifice of mothers, It's a day of warmth, pleasure, and thankfulness, with families gathering together to show their mothers how much they love and cherish them. This practice strengthens family relationships and emphasizes the role of mothers in influencing children's lives.

Be the change!

"Change, It Starts With Me" 

"Be the Change you want to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi

     Change is a powerful weapon that has the power to transform the world. We all want to make a significant difference and have a positive influence on our surroundings, but we're not sure where or how to start. The reality is that change starts with each of us. It begins with me, with you, and with all of us taking humble steps towards a better future for future generations.

    Self-awareness is a critical component in bringing about change. We must first look within ourselves to see where we can change and make a difference. Whether through our actions, words, or beliefs, we can all positively impact others around us. By being aware of our actions and working to be the greatest version of ourselves, we may encourage others to do the same.

   

    Taking action is another important part of bringing about change. It is not enough to just aspire to a better world; we must take action to make it happen. This can be accomplished through volunteer work, advocacy for important issues, or simply being helpful and kind to others. Even a small act of kindness or giving has the possibility of causing an event that leads to world-changing development.

     We may promote awareness and advocate for good change by educating ourselves on serious problems, being open to information on current events, and engaging in meaningful discussions with others. Knowledge is a powerful instrument that allows us to make educated decisions and take action to create a better environment.

      In conclusion, change begins with me, with you, and with all of us. We may secure a better future for ourselves and future generations by being self-aware, taking action, and working to make a positive difference in the world. Let us all commit to being the change we want to see in the world; in unity, we can make a significant difference.

Day of Valor: Meaningful Commemoration

       "Why do we commemorate this day?" 

   The Day of Valor, also known as Araw ng Kagitingan or Bataan Day, is a solemn reminder of the selflessness, bravery, and resiliency people have shown in times of hardship. April 9th is a national holiday that has great historical significance, especially in the Philippines, where it honors the bravery and determination of those who fought and died for the nation's freedom during World War II. 

    Why not use this Day of Valor to honor the American and Filipino forces who gave their lives so that we could be free from Japanese invasion? The following are some of the places you can visit in Bataan on this Day of Valor. Mount Samat National Shrine or Valor Shrine, Zero Kilometer Bataan Death March Marker, Corregidor Island, Bataan World War II Museum, and Bataan Techno Park.

     Honoring the bravery and patriotism of the American and Filipino soldiers who battled the Japanese during the Battle of Bataan in 1942 is one of the main reasons why we observe the Day of Valor. Despite being outnumbered, undersupplied, and outgunned, these soldiers defended the Philippines with incredible bravery and determination.

    The acknowledgment of sacrifice is at the essence of the Day of Valor. Many of the brave men and women who fought on Bataan gave their lives in the fight for freedom and democracy, while others suffered unspeakable suffering and severe conditions, such as disease and starvation, while being imprisoned. Honoring this day pays respect to their unwavering dedication and willingness to give up all for the sake of humanity. 

   To sum up, the Day of Valor is a meaningful commemoration of the bravery, selflessness, and resiliency people have shown when dealing with hardship. Let us strengthen our commitment to creating a society filled with solidarity and bravery as we consider the lessons learned from the past. We make sure that their memory endures and that their historical contributions to our country are never overlooked when celebrating this day. Their selflessness, bravery, resiliency, and determination serve as an inspiration to future generations, demonstrating the significance of standing up for what is right and defending our country when needed.
